FILM: BLACK 47 AND POP-UP GAELTACHT

March 03, 2019

3.40pm

It’s 1847 and Ireland is in the grip of the Great Famine. Feeney, a hardened Irish Ranger who has been fighting for the British Army, abandons his post to return home and is horrified at the hopeless destruction that has brutalised his people.
This screening will be introduced by Sorcha Ní Fhlainn, Senior Lecturer in Film Studies and American Studies at Manchester Metropolitan University.
The film will be followed by HOME’s first ever Pop-Up Gaeltacht, a free and informal event where you can experience more of the Irish language.
Box Office 0161 200 1500.
