The Manchester Irish Parade is still going ahead tomorrow, after taking soundings from the Irish community. We will be following the Department of Health strict guidelines, and everyone on the Parade will be advised about their health and safety. We are still taking the advice of the Chief Medical Officer that events are not prohibited as we can see at the Manchester Arena, Rugby League and horse racing as examples.
The governments u-turn on mass gatherings is to prevent pressure on the police and public services, we have no police on our Parade.
Giving the anxiety of many people in the city, all Festival events will be cancelled after the Parade including on St Patrick's Day (Tuesday 17th March).
